On the Crimson Flower route, Catherine can be fought during an optional mission in Brigid, and participates in a counterattack on Garreg Mach Monastery on a separate front to the one Seteth leads, which succeeds in weakening the imperial army, slaying Ladislava and leaving Randolph fatally wounded. On all routes other than Crimson Flower, Catherine returns to the monastery on the day of the millennium festival and accompanies Byleth throughout the war with the Empire. When Emperor Edelgard von Hresvelg of the Adrestian Empire declares war on the Church, Catherine fights in the Battle of Garreg Mach on the Church's side, but is defeated.
